Jaya Hind Commits ₹600 Crore to Aluminum Die Casting Expansion Across India

Jaya Hind Industries, the Pune-based aluminum casting specialist, has announced a phased investment of ₹600 crore, roughly €60–70 million, to expand high-pressure and gravity die casting capacity across its Indian plants over the next two financial years. The program, reported between August 12 and 24, 2026, adds more than twelve HPDC machines rated from 1,200 to 3,500 tonnes, a new facility in Chennai, and deeper in-house machining, heat treatment, impregnation, and powder coating. For buyers of aluminum castings, it is one of the largest capacity commitments announced in Asia this quarter, and a signal of where large structural casting supply is heading.

What the Investment Covers

The spending splits across three sites: Akurdi and Urse near Pune, and Chennai, where Jaya Hind had already broken ground on a ₹200 crore expansion in December 2025. The new program adds roughly ₹400 crore on top and turns the Chennai location into a larger, vertically integrated manufacturing base. Managing Director Prasan Firodia framed the move as investing ahead of demand for larger and more complex aluminum castings, particularly for automotive and e-mobility programs.

Why India, and Why Now

Jaya Hind is part of the Dr. Abhay Firodia Group and has cast aluminum in India since the 1960s, supplying domestic and export automotive programs. The company entered large structural components in 2019 and acquired German e-mobility parts maker LMG Manufacturing GmbH in 2022, giving it a European production foothold. This expansion follows the same logic on a bigger scale: vehicle programs keep replacing assemblies of stamped and welded parts with single large castings, and that work needs bigger machines, tighter process control, and finishing under one roof. India adds cost-competitive capacity at a moment when buyers are actively qualifying second sources outside China.

What It Means for Casting Buyers

Three takeaways for sourcing teams:

  • Large-casting supply is widening. More 3,500-tonne-class capacity in Asia means more suppliers can quote structural and e-mobility castings, which improves negotiating leverage on programs that previously had only a handful of capable bidders.
  • Vertical integration is becoming the baseline. Casting plus machining, heat treatment, impregnation, and coating in one organization shortens lead times and removes handoff risk. Use it as a checklist item when you audit any supplier, including us.
  • Qualification windows open early. New machines and plants go through customer audits and PPAP before ramping. Buyers who engage during construction get earlier sampling slots and better launch pricing than those who wait for full operation.

The pattern in this announcement matches how we run our own aluminum die casting programs: casting, machining, and surface treatment under one roof, with spectrometer-verified material and simulation-proven tooling. If your next project needs that kind of integrated metal manufacturing capabilities review, send us the drawing and annual volume, and our engineers will return a process and cost assessment.
